The church I go to had an historical gathering on May 30th, 2008 for their "Intro" event for 20-30 somethings. The very first Rock Band contest was held and four bands were ready to compete to win the crown for Intro Idol! If you recall from last month, Multicultural Club (Christian, the two Julie's and myself) made the long trek out to the big audition, but unfortunately we did not make the cut to the final round. However our good friend, Marcus Rhoads, and his band members (The Concords) proceeded to the final contest where they will face against three other vigorous groups to battle it out for the prestigious title as well with winning annual passes to Universal Studios! I was lucky enough to bump into Mr. Rhoads after his performance, and then once again after the votes were counted and the winners were announced. We didn't have a lot of time to meet since Mr. Rhoads had to grab as many Rice Krispies treats as he could in the fake green room, but he was gracious enough to set aside a few minutes from his busy schedule as we discuss and cross-examine The Concord's performance.
