Corn Maze in Zellwood, Florida
It was a fine Saturday afternoon on Long & Scott Farms in Zellwood, Florida.
I was pleased to discover I was almost as tall as the cartoon orange.
I pointed out a few pumpkins for my camera.
Julie was please to see the farm was open because we can't just waste all our time in the market place.
I, however, enjoyed wasting all the time I possibly could when given the chance.
Theresa thought wasting time looked like a lot of fun to, so she kept talking about how this corn maze survival pack was essential to own.
I pretended like I was cool.
Then I played hide and seek by myself and it was the best three hours ever.
After the intense round of hide and seek everyone was eager to go into the corn maze, but if you want to enter you must venture into the black plastic tube of doom through a 60 foot pile of sand.
We all waited in line patiently to meet our doom.
I was quick to point out the "doom tube."
Thankfully, we all made it to the other side and were ready to start the adventure!
My finger was also quick for spotting the corn!
But my head spotted something else though.....
.....JUMBO HOT DOG!!! We were BFF until I ate it in like one minute.
"ENOUGH OF THIS DILLY DALLYING," exclaimed Theresa. "LET US GET LOST IN THE VAST FIELD OF FLORIDA CORN!!!"
We all took our one last look at civilization before heading into the maze.
Then we were all scared and ran away from the maze.
But after an hour or so everyone was brave enough to go through...except I still had second thoughts.
Single file through the maize!
I found a Dr. Suess wanna-be corn.
We were totally BFF.
But like with all of my BFF's I ate the Dr. Suess wanna-be corn, which I totally shouldn't have done because it was totally not delicious.
The best part of the late-BFF Dr. Suess wanna-be corn was the side effect I had afterwards of the maize spinning around me.
I eventually recovered and totally wanted to find another BFF.
We found an "X" on the ground and could only assume that there were pirates burying their treasure throughout the corn maze.
"Pirates? That can't be right," I exclaimed, "it can only be aliens because they love corn fields." Jeremy didn't know how to respond to my statement.
But there was a rustling sound in the corn stalks near by.....
.....I didn't know what it was, but I kept my eyes wide open.
My extra terrestrial senses were tingling, but there didn't seem to be anything in sight.
But we all continued to focus on finding our way out of the maze.
Which was also the plan for anyone or ANYTHING in the corn fields.
This was definitely not a pirate marking!
I nearly cried like a little boy after seeing that.
BRIDGE!!!!
Julie took advantage of the strong signal she got on her cell phone and chatted with her mom in the middle of the corn field.
Six days later we found the exit.
Theresa was somewhat excited.
We all started to walk back to the market place.....
.....then Theresa found another maze that was much easier to find your way out of AND you get sprayed with a misty water-like substance.
Most people were in the mood for some mist so they followed along.
THEN WE GOT LOST IN SOME CORN AGAIN!
I wasn't exactly sure how this happened.
ANOTHER BRIDGE!!!
OMG!!! I love bridges in corn fields.
I always look this cool on a bridge overlooking corn.
Julie also wanted to look cool!
After spending quite a bit of time in a corn maze I expressed my thoughts and feelings aloud for Julie to hear and I am certain she found it to be most fascinating.
After getting out of another corn maze our reward were teeter totters!
This made the maze of maize worth going through after all.
The rest of the group waited patiently until we were either done with the playground equipment, which meant playing on it until it breaks.
I can't help myself but to show off in an empty cement tube.
Theresa tried but if she practices she'll eventually get it right.
Here is what Julie and I look like when we are holding pumpkins.
Here is Theresa's best impersonation of Gonzo from The Muppets.
And finally, here is our group shot of everyone after a fun filled day of hanging out in a field full of corn.
THE END!!!
