I flew out to Nashville, Tennessee on Christmas Day to meet up with most of my family and spend some time with them for a few days. Michael was too good to hang out with us and went to Africa to climb a mountain. He totally missed out on a good time. Here, see for yourself!
My mom found me at the airport and climbed out while the vehicle was still in motion.
Mother and son reunite once again for Christmas.
We went to the hotel and were greeted by the jolliest window painting of Santa Clause ever created.
Now that we were all together everyone looked in their stockings.
I had a Santa Coke bomb stuffed into mine and it freaked me out.....
.....my mom was freaked out just because she felt like being freaked out.
She went downstairs to the lobby to make sure the internet was still functioning for the world.
There's nothing like spending quality time in the lobby of a hotel next to the Christmas tree!
My mom really likes lobby Christmas trees.
Scott was ready to hit the streets in the morning.
I thought it was rather cold. My mom thought it was just right.
Scott was still trying to wake up after leaving the hotel.
About 30 minutes later he seemed to still be in the same condition.
My parents kept this fake horse some company in the cold for a while.
I decided to go inside and pretended like I enjoyed keeping this fake horse company for a while.
Scott also went inside with me and he had a fabulous time keeping the fake Cowboy Troy company. A little too much company perhaps.
Me and Scott blend in well with the plastic molds.
My mom loves alcohol.
Time to eat!
Before we left we had to get a picture with the "whorse."
Again, Scott and I blend in well with the plastic molds.
My mom is such a copycat.
SHRED IT!!!!!
It was getting really cold and windy at the moment.....
.....so we stopped by at the Union Station Hotel to warm up for a bit.
My family did a fantastic job at getting in the way of my Christmas tree shot.
Me and Scott do the Christmas huddle.
Christmas huddle time is over for Scott.
I was trying to get another shot of the Christmas tree, but my parents somehow managed to get into the shot at the last split second.
My mom warms up one last time before heading back outside.
However, the cold didn't bother her once she was mesmerized by a fake Elvis singing to her.
But reality would soon have to hit and when it did my mother found herself on a large bridge facing the cold wind blowing against her.
We were actually on our way over to a stadium to watch a Tennessee Titans game.
Scott was excited.
We did a group shot...mainly to keep warm.
Scott and I get into the Titans spirit.
I couldn't believe the size of the scoreboard!
My mom was expecting it to be playing an episode of Dancing with the Stars, but was greatly disappointed when it was only showing football.
But Scott got her into the Titans spirit so everything was okay.....
.....even though she had no idea who the Titans were at all.
The players warm up on the field.
Scott looks out onto the field in deep thought about his shattered hopes and dreams of playing for the NFL.
According to the dates on this graphic the Titans are a bunch of LIARS!!! Or they are just bad at math.
They scoreboard people also liked to tease the people in the stands during the cold night by putting up fire on the screen.
Me and my mom have no idea what is going on when it comes to football, but we are ready to enjoy it as much as possible.
The Titans try out the Christmas huddle.
The coach yelled at them because they were huddling for too long and made them get inside of the balloon helmet.
My mother and I pass the time by watching our breathe in the cold air.
The Titans run out of the helmet.
Time to deflate the helmet.
The commencement flares were launched to officially initiate the game.
Look at 'em go!
My mom and I spent most of our time doing the Christmas huddle.
My dad and Scott spent most of their time enjoying the game.
Scott gets me back into the Titans spirit.
I did one more Christmas huddle with the parents before heading out of the stadium.
We made it back to the hotel and my mother made herself as comfortable as she knew how.
The next day we set out on a mission to find a Jack In The Box. Mission Accomplished.
Creepy Jack #1.
Creepy Jack #2.
Creepy Jack #3.
Creepy Jack #4.
After lunch we went back to the mean streets of Nashville to cause some trouble.
My mom was definitely ready to cause some trouble with that bandana!
It has been quite some time since I have seen so many cassette tapes.
Seriously, I was amazed.
Scott attempts to fit in.....
.....now it's my turn.....
.....my mom's turn.....
.....and my dad's turn.
I wanted another go 'round. I may have gone a little overboard.
Judging by my mother's face this appears to be the most comfortable high-heeled shoe she has ever sat on.
Scott checks out the boots.
My mom found a pair that fits.
Then she takes them on a test run.
She found another pair that fits.
And, of course, goes for another test run.
Scott and I join our mother in the footwear fashion of Nashville.
Boot view from above.
My parents do a cowboy pose salute to Justin. Whoever that is.
Scott has no tolerance for rebel chicks.
He also has to spread rumors about himself with novelty license plates.
Me and my mom were about to get into a horse head fight. It was ugly!
We stopped over at Legends for a beer and some live music.
This wall was sorta cool.
This guy liked to toast quite a bit. Holler.....
.....and swaller.
Not too long after it was time for another holler.....
.....and swaller.
They were surprisingly good considering how much hollerin' and swallerin' was going on.
The family at a bar. A rare sight to see.
Scott took advantage of the hollering and swallering in front of my parents.
We continued our trek in downtown Nashville.
Along the way we were offered a free dragon fruit energy drink. My mom was brave enough to taste a sip.
We found a really cool guitar shop where Scott showed off his skills in hopes of attracting a sweet southern belle to stop by.
No one showed up. It might have been the smell.
Back on the streets!
I can't believe I got my mom do this...but then when I think about it I'm really not too surprised.
Later that night we found a fancy Italian restaurant with a fancy exterior wall.
Not to mention fancy/eerie Italian people.
Time to eat up.
Scott doesn't have time to smile for the camera in moments like this.
However, my mom and I have plenty of time to smile while we enjoy our fancy spaghetti.
We made one last stop for the night, which was to visit Opryland!
We were lured in from the pretty lights.
But we had to keep our distance or else we would be destroyed by a stone shepherd.
Or be forced to listen to Kenny G covers by a stone kid with a flute.
Scott was definitely excited to be here.
These trees were super cool.
Every branch was covered in lights.
It made me react in such amazement!
Very cool Nativity scene.
Wide shot.
My parents thought it would be good to have a nice picture of this.....
.....but my picture was way better.
Once again, my parents were in the way of a perfectly good Christmas tree shot!
I was happy to walk by the jaw-dropping trees again as we headed back towards the car.
I had to wake up a little early to catch my flight back to Orlando, and Scott was nice enough to wave goodbye before leaving the hotel.
My mom did her best to ignore the jolly window painting of Santa in the elevator.
It was officially time to say goodbye before catching my flight.
They had enough of me for almost two days so they were definitely excited to say toodle-oo!
Adios!
So long Nashville. THANKS FOR NOTHING!!!!!
The End.
